Re-Inventing the Self

By: On: March 19, 2009 at 8:01 pm

I’ve been in Eastport, Maine now for almost 5 months. I realized the other day in musing about my first winter here that I had gone from the frying pan (Los Angeles) into the freezer, by moving here right before winter started.

Now that I am settling in here and have survived my first Winter, I am so looking forward to Spring and Summer. I’ve spent a lot of time thinking about what I want to do with the next part of my life, and although I have lots of ideas, there has been nothing tangible yet, though I am confident at the right time, the next aspect will appear.

I guess you could say I am re-inventing the self. What’s next remains a mystery…

Pamela,  Re-inventing.  How well I know that.  I am glad to find your blog to read about you and your daughter finding your new lives in Eastport.  My husband and I are contemplating  a move to Maine and Eastport is 1 on our list of homeports.  I look forward to reading about your further experiences in Eastport over the next months.

We will make our first journey there next month.  I have not yet been to your political blog but will go there next.  I publish a local magazine in which I attempt to introduce some broader thinking through my editorials (there are other writers as well)  to this community but I fear for the most part they fall on uncomprehending ears here in the heart of darkness.

Keep posting about Eastport, I will be an eager reader.

    Best regards, O.

Thanks for stopping by and commenting. I added you to my blogroll here and on BohemianWomen.

Eastport is lovely, please let me know when you will be coming here and we can try to meet. I love all of coastal Maine but there is something very, very special about Eastport.
