Daily Affirmations: Positive Change

Today I recognize the potential with in myself and all persons to manifest profound positive change within myself and the world. I honor the power within that is summoned through the vibration of energy around me and I embrace those vibrations and send them back into the world to create change. Even the smallest changes makes a difference, for each incarnation of positive change creates ripples of positive energy, like the rippling of the river, and those ripples of change flow through me and out into the world as a catalyst for more change. And so it is… Intent makes manifest.

A Carolina Wren Comes to Roost

Last night I just discovered a Carolina Wren sleeping under the eaves on my front porch. My first reaction was what the heck is that little brown thing up there in the corner? I have red squirrels, chipmunks and field mice around the yard. At first, I wasn’t sure if it was a little rodent or some other strange creature. Finally after peering out the door at it for a time, I opened the front door, went out and walked up underneath it. As I slowly, quietly walked up below it, I realized it was a little bird. It didn’t flinch a feather as I stood there a couple of feet beneath it, peering up at in the light of the porch lamp. After observing it from different angles and being certain I was not disturbing it in any way, I went inside and grabbed my camera to take some photos, because it looked so strange all puffed up there, roosting in the corner as it was.

I knew it was not a Sparrow and given the coloring, I thought it must be Wren of some sort. Checking my bird book, I determined it must be a Carolina Wren. My first instinct, once I realized it was a Wee Little Wren, a favorite bird of mine, was to take it down from the corner and hold the poor little creature in my hands to warm it up. It made me cold to see it up there roosting in the corner instead of in a warm nest or bird house somewhere. I myself was shivering from the chill in the air.

“Why was it not roosting in a bird house,” I questioned myself? “There are plenty of bird houses about in the yard,” I told myself.  “Perhaps it is new to the neighborhood, as I am,” I thought. Perhaps it is lost and sought shelter here on my front porch.  (more…)

Sometimes we are bursting with ideas that we are anxious to bring to fruition and the responsibilities of our lives get in the way of moving full force into our new plans and projects. Today, I affirm to practice patience as I move through my day, for I know that there is time for everything to come to fruition. I recognize that The goals of I set now, the desires I intend to bring to fore, will all come in time. Patience is required to see these things through to completion. Daily Affirmations: I Am Grateful for All Blessings

I look to nature to see the blessings that life has to offer on a daily basis. The sun suddenly appearing from a bank of clouds or shining through a tree. A bird landing on a tree limb and singing its melodious song. A flower blooming long past its season. These are all the blessings of life that we see when we slow our lives enough to just take in the moment. Every moment is Now. Every moment is filled with blessings great and small. When I am in the Now I am able to see those blessings for what they are. For all blessings great and small, I am grateful. These blessings are the abundance in my life. In the moment I re-mind myself, I am Abundant. Gratitude matters.

Daily Affirmations: Happiness

When life is weighty and full of troubles it is so important to remember that happiness is a choice that I can make freely. Choosing happiness does not mean my problems dissolve or magically disappear, it means I am determined to not let my problems get the best of me. I affirm that in order to be happy, I must choose to be happy, today and everyday. Yes, there will always be days when it is easier than others, but I acknowledge that happiness is not a gift, and I must work at achieving my happiness. No one else can make me happy; I alone can make myself happy. Intent makes manifest.
