It’s been three weeks tomorrow since I had the open release carpal tunnel surgery on my left hand. I am pleased to say that I am recovery nicely and the strength is slowly but surely coming back in my hand. I am careful about lifting still and anticipate that it will be a few months before my hand has regain full strength.
As for the carpal tunnel symptoms. They are gone! Gone… gone… gone. And I couldn’t be happier about that. I hope to have my right hand done in January. No concerns what so ever about having the other hand fixed as well. This surgery has brought me so much relief and made a huge difference in my everyday life after suffering with carpal tunnel for so many years.

“It is good to stretch the imagination to its breaking point, to play with possibilities, to push the outer limits of the self. But to come down to the nitty-gritty of everyday life, the most important discipline of communion is the practice of simple kindness to strangers, civility to our neighbors, and justice to the wider community. ” ~~ Sam Keen – Hymns To An Unknown God

Discrimination is a learned belief not something that is inherent:
“Spiritual discrimination, like reason itself, grows out of dialogue.” – Sam Keen: Hymns to an Unknown God: Awakening The Spirit In Everyday Life
Sam Keen’s latest book, In the Absence of God: Dwelling in the Presence of the Sacred
, is a brilliant book that is a small thought provoking feast that I would recommend to anyone with questions about the meaning of life and evolution from the religious to the spiritual.

“Only I can discover my spirit and make myself free. Only I can take the existential leap, make the decision that carries me beyond what I was yesterday (and what every expert would predict I would be tomorrow) and do a new thing.” ~ Sam Keen: Hymns to an Unknown God: Awakening The Spirit In Everyday Life
At a time when I was struggling to find myself and answers, Hymns to an Unknown God was there for me, providing inspiration, solace and plenty of food for thought.
