A little something to break up the day… This is visually astounding to watch…

Enjoy… I had the opportunity while living in Los Angeles to drive through part of Joshua Tree with my daughter one time while we spending a few days in Palm Springs vacationing. It’s an amazing National Park, one I would love to visit again, although I no longer live in California.

A photographer can capture an image in mere seconds with a camera…

But is what we see always the reality of what it is, or do we see things sometimes in more abstract views that make us question reality?

To question reality can often bring us a new way of viewing what we see.

Sometimes what we see is simply colored in black & white…

And then at times we see things with a very abstract view of color…

When we process both the reality and the abstract in our hearts and minds, we can often find a deeper answer to what is real.

Trees in winter, stripped bare of their foliage often offer a view worthy of the interpretation of an artist’s eye:

While driving along the river the other day with my hiking partner, I noticed this Bird In A Tree.

As I continue to work through my photos and edit them, I plan to create an album of Mother Nature’s Art Work as exhibited in the bare trees.

Three weeks ago I took a trip to Eastport Maine with a friend. The weather was mostly rainy, misty, foggy, but I still managed to take a lot of wonderful photos:

This beautiful deer was foraging along the trail at Shackford Head in Eastport, ME when I was there two weeks ago…

You can’t get there from here…

This beach in Eastport, ME is on the south end of the island, facing Lubec. Lubec is about 10 minutes by boat or an hour by car… It’s one of those places that truly epitomizes the saying, “you can’t get there from here”…

Last week on a rare sunny day here along the Merrimack River I was outside with my camera, watching the birds in my yard. The sun was slowly sinking to the west and the light on the new Spring leaves caught my eye and my lens.

I love the Shades of Spring…

The red maples are among my favorite trees and I’m blessed with two old beauties in the front of my house: 

It’s been a rather dreary Spring here on the river this year, but there are moments when my eye catches a perfect view of color that lights up my evening sky and fills my heart with gratitude…

As I mentioned here the other day, the publisher of Newburyport’s American Yatch Club’s newsletter had asked permission to use one of my photos for their cover. Here’s the front cover featuring a photo of a dory in front of Lowell’s Boat Shop in Amesbury, MA:
