Daily Affirmations: I Am Awesome

Today, I re-mind myself that to be empowered, I must be willing to see that I have something worthy and awesome to offer to the world. My true strength comes from within, I must lift myself up so that others can see the light that shines within me. The truth is we each have a light that shines within. Today, I am willing to make my self-empowerment my guiding force of the day. I recognize that happiness is my choice and I share that happiness with those around me. I recognize that in choosing to see myself as an Awesome Being in the world, I am lifting myself up, empowering myself to be all I can be and inspiring others to do the same. And so it is. Intent Makes Manifest… I Am Awesome.

Daily Affirmations: I Am Awesome

Today, I will practice the “I Am Awesome” principle. Each time I am asked how I am, I will reply, “I Am Awesome!” With each reply, I will feel the contagion of being Awesome grow with in my heart and mind for intent makes manifest. With each opportunity I have to respond to the question, “How are you,” I have the opportunity to share the “I Am Awesome” principle, so that others may feel the contagion as well. Awesome is a state of mind, it is a choice, like happiness.

When I choose to be Awesome, I choose to be more than happy, I choose to be empowered by my own will. When I choose to be awesome, I choose to see things through wonder, amazement and I choose to make self-confidence a guiding essence of my life, because I understand the power of intent. The question begs the answer, “Why would I choose to be anything less than Awesome, each and every day?” That I choose to be Awesome, makes it so. And so it is… Intent makes manifest.

Daily Affirmations: Soar to Greater Heights

The day breaks and I rise with anticipation of what the day will bring. Today, I re-mind myself that I am strong and I am capable of achieving everything that I set my mind to. Yes, sometimes the odds seem insurmountable. Yes, some days are easier than others. But still, as I rise each day, I feel my inner strength gather and I move with that inner strength, in confidence that I might soar to greater heights.  Each new day is an opportunity to rise above the problems in my life. Each new days is an opportunity to forge a new direction. Each new day is my chance to make a difference in the world and so I face the day asking the Universe, “what would you have me do this day, that I might make a difference?” My intent today is to rise above whatever keeps me down. My intent today is to soar to greater heights. And so it is… Intent makes manifest.

Musings: On Red-winged Blackbirds At River’s Edge

Each day as I walked along the Merrimack River last fall, there were a few dozen Red-winged Blackbirds singing in the top of the tree alongside the river. They trilled, they chattered, they called out a sharp “chak chak chak” sound, making certain that all knew of their presence along the river as they formed their flocks each evening, swirling about, diving head long into the marsh grasses and Phragmites like some daring stunt pilots dazzling an audience of spectators. I watched them spell-bound as they careened about along the edge of the river, flashing their red wing patch as they veered left and then right and swirled in to the marsh grasses in a flurry.

12249738_10156338064300122_7052959651026995189_nThey were a loud group, a boisterous crowd, which broke the reverie of the quiet as I walked along the river’s edge. Despite the fact that I expected each day to see and hear my raucous friends as I walked, I was startled from my own mind that often spun like the chattering flock of glossy Red-winged Blackbirds. Once brought to my senses I would stop to marvel at the racket they made and laugh at their antics swooping about in the large swath of Phragmites along the river.

Day in, day out, as I walked past their riverside haunt the red-winded blackbirds did not cease to entertain me. It was just that simple it seemed, that nature provided the stimulus to take me outside of myself long enough to look at my life from a different direction. As the flight of a flock of birds shifts and change direction, so too does life. Typically, the clarions of spring, I wondered each day why this flock of red-winged blackbirds had not made their way south yet. They were still hanging on to the river’s edge, out of season, as if they might risk wintering in the cold New England winter.

And then, one day they were gone. I walked the path I always took, I marveled in the silence as I passed by the large stand of Phragmites usually infested with Red-winged Blackbirds. I stopped and listened for their chatter and trill. I heard only silence. The cold winters of winter had finally sent them south, I thought to myself. Soon the spring would come again and those clarions of spring, the Red-winged Blackbirds, would return. I would wait, as I do in all aspects of my life, for change to come.

Daily Affirmations: I Am Abundant

Today, I re-mind myself that when I worry about having enough, I block the flow of prosperity and abundance. When money is tight, it is normal to worry about having enough to pay the bills, put food on the table and have a little extra for things that you need. But, continued worry simply causes stress and anxiety to compound and it does not solve the issue at hand. I know I must set my intent to prosperity and abundance, rather than worry about lack there of, because intent makes manifest and gratitude matters. Today I will not worry about what I need, instead I will focus on what I have. And so it is… Intent makes manifest. My life is rich. I am abundant.

Daily Affirmations: Be the Best Person That I Can Be

Today I am reminded that life is short. I am here on this Earth to give love, show respect, honor the endeavors of all people, elevate and not tear down my friends and family, show and embody compassion, accept things as they are, and be the best person that I can be on every given day. And so it is…
