Daily Affirmations: To Be Empowered

To be empowered, I affirm with gratitude in my heart for all that there is in my life. My life is rich with the love of my dearest family members and friends. My life is rich with the opportunities and abundance that I make for myself and that present themselves to me via the Universe. I celebrate with joy these things, and understand the flow of the cycles of all that there is, for it is like the river constantly changing. Today is a good day. I claim it as such. And so it is…

Food For Thought: Moment to Moment

I like to think that life is a grand adventure, for we have opportunities all the time, to make the ordinary moments in our lives extraordinary. Much of what occurs in our lives and how we react to it is based on our finite view of each moment in the now as it occurs.

This is not to say there are times when we cannot take ourselves out of tough circumstances, this is to say, we can put more reverence into the ordinary moments and find the grace of adventure in a simple trip to the grocery store. Continue reading

Like A Piece Of Discarded Trash

When our hearts have been broken, we feel so alone, like the solitary swan pictured below, or worse, like a piece of discarded trash, left by the wayside. It takes time for a broken heart to heal and we each find our through the pain in our own time and space. Grief is a powerful emotion and lost love is a grievous affair.

Like A Piece Of Discarded Trashsoloswan

When does a heart cease
To be broken,
When does a vow cease
To be significant.
When can you walk away
And, leave the pain behind
Like a piece of discarded trash.
There comes a point,
When enough
Is enough.
It’s time to move on;
But, you feel
You are cheated,
Of the love
You thought that was shared.
And, the emptiness hangs on,
Like a piece of gum,
Stuck upon the bottom of your shoe.
Time often becomes,
And, you wish that
It would refrain.
And, so you cling
To what was once
When does a heart cease
To be broken,
When does a vow cease
To be significant.
When can you walk away,
And, leave the pain behind,
Like a piece,
Of discarded trash.

If your heart is broken, have faith… In time you will find the strength to love again.

Daily Affirmations: Procrastination

Today, I will set a new course in my life and begin to make changes to when and how I do things that need to get done. I often procrastinate, wait until the last moment and this causes unnecessary stress on me. Instead of getting things done, I worry myself thinking about the fact that I have a list of things to do. Today, I will start with my list of things to do and get them done, one by one. There is nothing healthy or productive about procrastination. I affirm to release procrastination from my life, today and everyday, as I walk my daily path.

Food For Thought: Loving the Troubled Soul

I was reminded again recently that life is short. Some of us live with the understanding that our lives are filled with lessons, some are joyful lessons and some are painful lessons. And, some of us live our lives forever chasing demons from our soul in the most self destructive of ways. Continue reading

Daily Affirmations: In The Now

light on the river

“To Be Empowered, I re-mind myself to focus on the Now. It is in the Now, that my life is lived fully and I am present to enjoy all aspects of my life from moment to moment. In the Now, I allow myself to surrender to the moment and I do not dwell in the past nor do I long for the future. I am simply here…. Now.” – Namaste… Pamela
