Today my goal is to recognize the blessings in my life that sometimes get overlooked. The simple little things that make life rich… A pair of beautiful birds at the birdfeeder, the blue sky over head that’s bursting with puffy white clouds, crisp cotton pajamas in cool cotton sheets at night. Life is good and I am grateful. ~~ Pamela J. Leavey

The song of the cardinal is one of the sweetest sounds of spring. I have 2 or 3 pairs of cardinals in my yard as well as blue jays, a purple finch, abundant robins and sparrows and countless other species of birds filling my yard with a symphony of sound each day.

It’s all to easy for anyone struggling in this recession to worry about money. And it’s one of the toughest things to turn over to a higher power. But when you do you find a great sense of inner peace.

The universe is always there to provide, we need to stay open to receiving it’s gifts and know that prosperity and abundance isn’t just about money. It’s about inner wealth — love, friendship, enjoying the glimpse of a beautiful bird or a setting sun.

Mother Nature played a joke on most of New England today: Snow.
I was hoping that we’d be spared here near the mouth of the Merrimack River and only have rain. No such luck. I went outside last night briefly at about 11:00 pm and there was a light blanket of snow on the ground. At 7:00 am I awoke to a power outage. With all the snow storms we had all winter, there was not one outage. Now it happens. Thankfully the power was back on within a couple of hours.
Tomorrow we should see some sun and warmer temperatures here on the river while we’re waiting for spring. We need more lovely days like this for the trees to start budding and the spring flowers to burst out of their winter cover and shine in the sun:
