It is easy to fall into the trap of pessimism when life has bogged you down with troubles. It is in these times that we must work harder to remind ourselves that the troubles will pass, things will get easier, things will get better, and there is hope.
In these times when I slip into a pessimistic mood, I affirm: “I will face this day with optimism and hope. I release the negative emotions regarding my circumstances that are bogging me down. Pessimism is not an option today or any day.”
It is important to re-mind ourselves that we are not alone, adrift on the water, there is anchor and that anchor is our capacity to turn our thoughts around.
