Food for Thought: A Narrow Path

maudslay footbridge

We are all walking a fine line sometimes on a narrow path, with bridges to cross and hills to climb. Our struggle is to meet that path with anticipation that it will lead us in the right direction.

But, wait… What if that path leads us astray?

What if we read the signs wrong and we traveled down the road, and found ourselves lost?

There are no sureties in life. There is only moving forward on the narrow path and trusting it will lead us in the right direction.

Daily Affirmations: Truth

Today, I affirm my intent to be honest with myself and others, for when I deceive others, I am deceiving myself. Today, I affirm my intent to be true to myself and others, for when I am true to myself, I am true to others. Today, I affirm my intent to strive to be the gentle voice of truth and reason in all circumstances, for the gentle voice of truth and reason is most powerful in its ability to speak and act from truth. And so it is… Intent makes manifest.

Daily Affirmations: My Goals and Desires

Today, I affirm to myself that each of the goals and desires that I strive for in my life are clear and I avow that all good things happen in time. I can work towards my goals and desires, each and every day, as I do, however, my goals and desires will manifest when the time is right. In my clear, positive thinking mind, I open myself to the many divine possibilities that flow from my clear intent. Intent is a powerful force that allows us to manifest our goals and desires. Each day I work my intent towards my goals that are steeped in the betterment of myself and others. My greatest goal in life is to make the world a better place. That I might manifest this goal through my good intent is always my underlying desire. And so it is… Intent makes manifest.

Old Dories on the River Bank

old dories on river bank

The two old dories sat patiently on the river bank, watching guard over the dory floating quietly in the river, tied to the dock below.

“One day you’ll join us here,” the two old dories said.

The dory in the river replied, “I know, but for now I’ll just be here in the moment. Peaceful and still on the river.”

Musings: I Am the Nature That Borders My World

snowy egretI build my understanding and reason about all things in life around the nature that borders my world. I absorb the entities of nature that are around me.

I take up sometimes for the briefest of moments, the flight of the hawk, or the hop of the rabbit. I scream like the fox, I swish like the fish flowing downstream with the tide. I peer into the pool of water and find my reflection. I am the wild creatures and the wild creatures are me.

It is in the moments of communing with nature that I am free from the commonplace stresses of the world. It is in the moments that I let my imagination run wild and soar free, with the wild creatures around me, that I am free from the stresses of the world.

I build my sanity and reason around myself with the nature that surrounds my realm. I am the eagle hunting fish in the river. I am the squirrel storing nuts for winter. I am the buds on the trees in the spring. I am the river as to flows to the ocean. I am the ocean whose waves crash on the shore. I am the nature that borders my world.
