Artist Statement: As a photographer I am drawn to color, light, movement, patterns and reflections that occur in nature. I am a visual spatial person who naturally sees what is before my eyes within a frame. Throughout my life I have been inspired by art and nature, each in their many forms. Photography a marvelous medium for me as multimedia artist, writer and photographer, as it provides an instant gratification of creating something tangible that I can share with others. I hope you find inspiration in my work, and invest in my artistic vision. With gratitude… Pamela Leavey
It’s hard to stay focused when things feel like they are spinning out of control around you. Lately, I find myself easily distracted by the news and I forget to take a moment to ground myself. It is in those moments when we become easily distracted that we most need to stop, take a moment, breathe and release our distraction into the wind and find our footing again.
Today, I re-mind myself that staying focused is tantamount to minimizing the stress in my life when the world feels as though it is spinning out of control. I take a deep breath and release. I repeat that breathing, that very cleansing and healing breathing until I find my center and I feel confident that I’ve got this. I am capable of staying focused no matter what is happening in the world around me. I set my intent today and every day to remaining focused. I know I have the tools inside of myself to find my center and I affirm my intent to stay centered. And so it is… Intent makes manifest. Namaste…
Never get so caught up in the noise around you, that you might forget that there are also moments like these when in the still you see the reflection of light and color and you are lifted up, if only for a moment, to the glory and the grace of beauty in its purest form.
Even when things appear to be dark, there is still light behind that darkness. Let that light in. Seek that light. Let the very thought of it envelope you and protect your psyche, now and always.
Namaste… Pamela
Photo: Sunset on the Merrimack River in Amesbury, Massachusetts at Lowell’s Boat Shop.
Today as the rain falls outside my desk window, I think of the beautiful golden sunlight often seen shining through the trees when walking in the woods.
This is the light of redemption and renewal. This is the light that draws us into our center, our core, and reflects back through us when we are open to the beauty that surrounds us and is within us. This is the force that feeds us, body and soul. This is the forces that fills our psyche with unlimited love. (more…)
I often muse on the road or path that our lives follow for the road and the path such perfect metaphors for the trajectory of our life. Where we go in our life, what we do, the detours we take, these are all aspects of traveling through our lives to get somewhere, or to just be, to just be in the moment and savor the journey.
Today, I remind myself that as I travel the road of life, I am grateful for the varied terrain, the gentle slopes, the tough hills, the steep canyons, the winding roads and the clear path ahead that have all been a part of my life. The journey was never meant to be easy. (more…)
