Daily Affirmations: Gratitude for Life Through the Bounty of Nature

Today, I seek to recognize every blessing that comes my way, from the flock of geese who loudly proclaim their flight overhead, to the the sunshine breaking through the clouds at daybreak. I thank the Great Mother Goddess today, for these and all blessings found in nature. The colors of fall that permeate the scenery around me, the sparrows fluttering from bush to bush, I am grateful for all blessings that pass my way, today and everyday. In affirming my gratitude for life through the bounty of nature, I affirm my gratitude for all things great and small. In this, I proclaim, I am abundant.

Be bold,
Take a chance…
Follow you own path!

As a creative soul, my spirit has always dictated that I follow my own path. Sometimes I may stumble, but I know when I step out boldly and take a chance, I am giving myself the power to discover more about myself and life. ~ Namaste… Pamela

Food For Thought: Moving On

I had had my heart set for a few months now to move to a new apartment. I had two criteria that mattered most, after living in a downtown apartment with no yard or view. I was looking for “a place with a yard’ and “a room with a view.” Quietly, I set my intent out into the Universe and the Universe answered at exactly the right time. I’m moving on… The view and the yard are awesome. It is time for a change and I am so ready for it.

Moving is a wonderful thing because it opens the channels to new energy. The moment I stepped out of my car at my new place I felt like I was home. And I walked across the threshold of the back door, into the old mud room, I knew I was home. And then I say the view from the living room, and walked up the stairs to take in the view from the front bedroom. Ah… There’s no place like home. I had found my new home.  (more…)

Reflections: Trees

When I seek sanctuary from the trials and tribulations of life I spend time in nature. I walk amidst the fields and forests, along the marshes and beaches. I spend time observing nature and becoming one with it. I never cease to marvel at the sights and sounds of nature. I revel in the colors and textures I see before me. I reach out to touch the very palpable flesh of a blade of grass, a pebble or shell on the beach, the bark of a tree. What marvel is the bark of a tree for it is so many colors and textures.

Trees speak to me. They tell me of their struggles surviving in the forest or standing alone in the middle of the field. Trees share their stories with each of us, but we must be open to receive…

Ode to Trees is a lovely essay by Herman Hesse and it can be found in his book Wandering: Notes and Sketches: (more…)

New England’s Best Beaches

The Boston Globe names Crane Beach in Ipswich one of New England’s Best Beaches. It is great to see this local beach made the list:

We happen to love Crane Beach, with its undulating dunes and secret maritime forest, and so do the folks at NationalGeographic.com. They hailed it as one of the Top 10 US Family Beaches. “Calm waters, warm tidal pools, and on-site amenities such as a snack bar . . . make this an ideal destination for families,” they noted. Not to mention the pure powdery-softness of the sand, and the cool views of the Great House, rising over the beach.

I know Crane Beach is a fabulous beach for the reasons the Boston Globe cites, warm tidal pools and powdery soft sands but for me there is a beach that rises above the cut of all of New England’s Best Beaches and that beach has a view of Crane Beach. (more…)

Reflections: I Am Green

I am green in my understanding of life. I am always open to learning new things.

Forest Fern
Forest Fern

I am delicate like the fern, but hearty as the pine that stands tall and reaches for the sun. I have weathered many storms, but I still unfurl every spring laying out my delicate soul upon the forest floor, reaching high into the sky to soar with eagles. I am nature. Nature is me. I am green and I will grow until my day comes to wither and return to the earth.
