Along the trail we see so many things that fill us with awe and wonder. Nature fills our souls and fuels us on our path in life. Never rush along the path… Take the time to appreciate the simple, yet complex gifts of nature. In that wandering along the trail, we are released of all stress and anxiety and find inner peace to bring with us on the walk of life.

In this digital age of communication, it feels sometimes as though the act and art of communion with our friends and family has been displaced by the digital discourse. While the internet and text messages have certainly broadened our powers of staying in touch, we must remember that it never supplants the need for true in person interaction with our loved ones… Communion:

“Communion is the root word in communication, reminding us that to communicate with another person isn’t to pass on information.” ~ Deepak Chopra: The Path to Love

In this time when so many people are struggling with the ongoing economic recession, people find they need the help of others in order to stay afloat. Like the dories pictured above, the interconnection among family and friends helps to hold people up in tough times. This too is true when we are going through emotional pain and loss. No one struggling can or should go it alone. Everyone needs someone from time to time, even the  most solitary among us… Make it point to stay connected. Relationships are vital in our interconnected world.

Food For Thought: A Woman’s World

I believe that every woman is capable of building her own world and should be encouraged to do so:

“How wrong it is for woman to expect the man to build the world she wants, rather than set out to create it herself.” – Anais Nin

“There are many callings in this life and we can answer them all, or we can choose to ignore them. When we ignore them we lose the possibility of expanding who we are and why we are here.” – Pamela Leavey

Food For Thought: Paths, Trails, Roads

Trail at Hellcat Swamp – c. Pamela J. Leavey

Life is a series of paths, trails and roads. A small path takes you to a larger trail… You follow along that trail in contemplation and then you meet the road. The road moves faster than the path or trail. On the road, you take action, you sometimes need to think quickly. Traveling on the road takes a different type of self participation. Sometimes you feel that you have traveled a road far enough and you need to get off that road. That is okay, because you can always start again at a new path. – Pamela J. Leavey
