http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MopbhuZ2Bh0I’ve thought often since moving here to Eastport how much I would love a place with a cupola or a widow’s walk on the roof. Years ago, I lived in a place in Newburyport that had both. It was a fantastic place to escape to, and the views of the city and the coast were wonderful.

The past few weeks have been interesting… When I started my journey last fall, to move cross country from Los Angeles to Maine, I considered it to be my “mid-life crisis adventure.” I knew I needed a change and it was important to me to be living back on the East Coast where my roots are and to live near family.
Perhaps it is the long hard first winter here, but I think not, there are days when I wonder where the light is at the end of the tunnel. Spring is here, warmer days, longer days, but the sun is not the cure all, for I feel often still that I have not found that missing piece (or peace) I seek.
I’ve been sorting through what I want to do next with my life, like many who have been affected by the economic downturn we are in, I am looking to re-invent myself. Come what may… For now I continue to keep looking…

I often wondered about all these celebrities who are Twittering, where do they find the time with their busy celebrity lives to Twitter away all day? Well, apparently many have Ghost Twitter‘rs doing it for them. Go figure…
I am a self avowed internet junkie, however, the Twittering craze just hasn’t swept me off my feet. I Twitter all my blog posts using Share This… that’s enough Twitter for me.
Now the question is will the followers of the celebrity Twitters remain faithful, or will they become disillusioned as people often do when they find they have had the wool pulled over their eyes.

There’s a natural flow of tides that causes erosion on all beaches. Add to that storms and other natural effects and the landscape of a beach is constantly changing. I can remember as a child camping on Sandy Point on Plum Island (Newburyport, MA) and claiming a rock as my own. Much to my chagrin my rock was no where to be founf the following summer when my family set up camp on the Point for the summer.
While I was down in Newburyport last weekend I drove down to Plum Island because I had heard there had been problems there with homes built on the water front being at risk. The photo below is of the jetty at the Center Beach on Plum Island:

I stopped at Home Depot in New Hampshire over the weekend to pick up some business supplies and I found myself wandering through the gardening section picking out seed packets of my favorite vegetables.
I am longing for planting season… waiting for the last frost, to be exact, so that I can plant my seeds, tend my garden and then reap it’s harvest in the Summer.
I will no doubt plant some flowers as well, but my focus at this point is planting my own little victory garden. And speaking of gardening and flowers, the NY Times has really good read today: Hands-On History Lessons.
