Daily Affirmations: Look for the Little Miracles

As daily life for so many around the United States and the world slows down in the midst of the Coronavirus pandemic, today is a good day to remind ourselves to look for the little miracles that happen everyday around us. Some of us may wonder, how can little miracles be happening as people are out of work, staying at home to flatten the curve of the spread of the virus, and people are dying.

But if we all look closely and strive to be in the moment, we will see the grace unfolding around us. That grace is the phone calls from friends and family. That grace is stepping outside to hear the birds sing. That grace is seeing the spring flowers bloom, watching the children play… There is truly so much to be grateful for right now. And so it is, I set my intent today, and every day, to acknowledge the little miracles that unfold around me and be grateful for each and every one of those miracles. Intent makes manifest. Namaste…

Daily Affirmations: Stay Focused and Productive

Today, I set my intent to stay focused and productive in the midst of mayhem and uncertainty of the world. These are trying times for everyone. We can’t let ourselves slip into fear and panic. We must stay busy at home doing things that make us happy, and contribute to the happiness of others. And so it is today, that I make the promise to myself to focus on the things I can do to make a difference in these troubled times. Intent makes manifest… Namaste.

Food For Thought: Sitting in Fear and Anger is Not Healthy For Anyone

We’re in the midst of some unprecedented times in the world. With Coronavirus spreading to every country and many countries scrambling to shut down businesses and keep people at home to stop the spread of the virus and flatten the curve, we’re all in a state of suspension that is nothing we could ever imagine happening prior to this.

I’ve been through a range of emotions in the last week or so, as I am sure many have. I’ve been sad, I found myself easily driven to tears, I’ve been angry and I’ve been afraid. I have no doubt I may cycle through these emotions again as we continue to hunker down around the United States and the world, waiting to for this all to pass and hoping, praying that we and our loved ones are not stricken with Coronavirus.

Last night while sitting in contemplation, I decided that in order stay strong through this all, I needed to not rise to the fear and anger, because sitting in fear and anger is not healthy for anyone ever. I know this isn’t easy to release our fear and anger, it is something we must work at, but the more we can let it go, the clearer our hearts and minds will be and the healthier we will be.

Life is always a series of tests. Life is always in flux. Life is always in motion, even when it feels like the world is standing still, which in so many regards it is. So today, I’m practicing the being in the moment as much as I can. It is my hope as I write this, and subsequently share it, that others will choose to not sit in fear and anger as well.

Be kind to one another and spread compassion and empathy to all. Namaste…

Daily Affirmations: Make a Difference in the Lives of Others

Like everyone, it has taken me a few days to really wrap my head around the global Coronavirus pandemic we are in the midst of. The bottomline is we are in this together. As we each strive to keep ourselves safe and healthy, it is tantamount that we all stay focused and centered, and we each remember to be kind to one another. Kindness comes in many forms. If we’re shut in alone or with others, it means reaching out to our friends and family to see how they are holding up.

Today, I re-mind myself that even in the midst of a pandemic, I can make a difference in the lives of others. I affirm my own well-being and I vow to check on my friends and family and let them know they are loved. I set my intent to make a difference in the lives of others today, and every day. Intent makes manifest. And so it is… Namaste.

Daily Affirmations: Staying Focused

It’s hard to stay focused when things feel like they are spinning out of control around you. Lately, I find myself easily distracted by the news and I forget to take a moment to ground myself. It is in those moments when we become easily distracted that we most need to stop, take a moment, breathe and release our distraction into the wind and find our footing again.

Today, I re-mind myself that staying focused is tantamount to minimizing the stress in my life when the world feels as though it is spinning out of control. I take a deep breath and release. I repeat that breathing, that very cleansing and healing breathing until I find my center and I feel confident that I’ve got this. I am capable of staying focused no matter what is happening in the world around me. I set my intent today and every day to remaining focused. I know I have the tools inside of myself to find my center and I affirm my intent to stay centered. And so it is… Intent makes manifest. Namaste…

Daily Affirmations: Fear and Anger

In stressful and troubling times it is so easy for all of us to slip into a state of fear and even anger. These are the times when we must use our intent to move past fear and anger and move back into grace and love. Fear is the antithesis to love. As is anger. We can not live in love and grace if we let fear and anger overcome our rationality and reality.

Today, I re-mind myself that I am strong than the fear and anger that surfaces in my life. I am capable of seeing that fear and anger serve no purpose in my life and it acts as a contagion, when we push our fears and angers towards others. Today, I set my intent to stop when I feel fear or anger arise and I ask myself why I am allowing this to be in my life. I breathe deeply, I exhale, I repeat and in my inhalation – exhalation, I let go of the toxic fear and anger and replace it with grace and love. And so it is, intent makes manifest. Namaste…
