Like the hawk, it is important to stay focused and keep a keen eye on all around you. Staying focused requires a deep concentration and attention to the now. One must be in the moment, in the now, in order to stay focused. Release the past, don’t worry about the future. Just be here, in the moment, cognicent and open. ~ Pamela Leavey

Among my favorite insights was this one on solitude:
“Without solitude, Love will not stay long by your side.
Because Love needs to rest, so that it can journey through the heavens and reveal itself in other forms.
Without solitude, no plant or animal can survive, no soil can remain productive, no child can learn about life, no artist can create, no work can grow and be transformed.
Solitude is not the absence of Love but its complement.
Solitude is not the absence of company, but the moment when our soul is free to speak to us and help us decide what to do with our life.”
Indeed at every turn of the page, Manuscript Found in Accra, either reminded me of lessons already learned or taught me new ways to look at the context of my life.
I am a big fan of Coehlo’s work… Manuscript Found in Accra is a must read for seekers of knowledge and answers to life’s pressing questions.
Everyday brings new opportunities that are filled with promise. Stay open, aware and attuned to the messages around you. An open heart and an open mind are the greatest guides on your path. Follow their lead…

In the stillness
I hear the beating
of the mother’s heart,
in the stillness
I know the pain
of her longing.
I watch, I wait
for her children
to appear,
I know her longing
for it is my own.
I cry out to the Mother
where, oh where could I go,
for I have wandered lonely
in the light of the sun.
She tells me in whisper
Daughter I do not know,
your path is written in the stars
though on the river you do flow.
Sit peacefully in the still
the answers you will know.
