Looking For The Light

The past few weeks have been interesting… When I started my journey last fall, to move cross country from Los Angeles to Maine, I considered it to be my “mid-life crisis adventure.” I knew I needed a change and it was important to me to be living back on the East Coast where my roots are and to live near family.

Perhaps it is the long hard first winter here, but I think not, there are days when I wonder where the light is at the end of the tunnel. Spring is here, warmer days, longer days, but the sun is not the cure all, for I feel often still that I have not found that missing piece (or peace) I seek.

I’ve been sorting through what I want to do next with my life, like many who have been affected by the economic downturn we are in, I am looking to re-invent myself. Come what may… For now I continue to keep looking…

A Path to the Sun

If you follow the path in the snow between the trees up the hill and then into the clouds, it will lead to the sun:

I Wish

I wish the sky had looked like this today:

It was grey and stormy instead. More snow on it’s way. I’ve heard it’s been a rough winter here in Eastport this year. I think Mother Nature decided to break me in hard and fast for my first winter here. If I can make it through this one, the other winters here to follow won’t seem so bad.

Winter Weary

Winter in all it’s glory has stayed too long.

Now it’s time for winter to run along.

I’ve felt enough of the cold, cold air.

I’ve seen enough of the icy and snow.

I’m ready for the spring to blossom.

A Cloud in the Sky

Looking south in the bay towards Lubec and Campobello Island there were some beautiful clouds in the sky this past Monday:

Everyday the pallette of the sky changes here in Eastport. From brilliant blues to cool greys and lavendars, it’s such a delight even on the coldest of days.

I’m about at the end of my first winter here in my new home. Spring is around the corner, so I hear… But more snow is headed this way tomorrow. I think I’ll spend the day tomorrow planning my first garden here so I am ready to plant when the time comes.

Rain

It’s raining today. It would be wonderful if the rain washed all the snow away. I know… I’m dreaming.
