Daily Affirmations: Abundance

Abundance can often be like the ocean, ebbing and flowing with the tides. When the tide is low, I seek to remind myself how quickly the tide can turn and bring with it the seeds of prosperity which planted will flourish and grow. Today, I look to the heavens and I thank the Universe for all bestowed upon me, with gratitude and confidence that I have planted the seeds. ~ Pamela J. Leavey

Daily Affirmations: Smelling Like A Rose

Today, I re-mind myself that no matter what I am going through in my life, if I stay positive and focused, then I can still come out, like the old saying, smelling like a rose. Although a thorn or two might pierce my fingers, I have the gift of gratitude, keeping me going. ~ Pamela J. Leavey

Reflections: Seeing Rainbows

When I look to the skies, I often see very magical formations in clouds like the one below that looks a bit like a rainbow colored lightening bolt seen through the the bare trees:

When I see rainbows, my heart lifts up to the heavens in a sort of communion with the universe that fills me with joy.

It’s so important to find joy in the little things in life, as I have noted here in my Daily Affirmation today, and my Food For Thought post yesterday.

We go through life sometimes in a very numb state of mind, in that we forgot to look to the skies for rainbows or stop and smell the flowers.

I learned a long time ago that in being in the moment, you place your heart and soul in alignment with the opportunity to experience and feel joy. To be in the moment takes constant work and practice on living with an open mind and an open heart.

Awakening to joy, seeing rainbows is a great balm to the soul when we learn to look to even the littlest things to fill our hearts and minds with love and gratitude.

On The Parker River Path

In the midst of my imposed immobility, I occasionally get sprung from the sanctuary that I call home, and I am whisked away for drive through the Parker River National Wildlife Refuge.

The winter days have been so unseasonably warm over the past few weeks and my soul craves the sun and fresh air, not to mention some good bird sightings as well.

On my most recent excursion to the Refuge, which truly is the most marvelous stronghold for my soul, we were lucky to find a lovely White Egret sunning near two Mute Swans. Suddenly the White Egret took to flight and it was spectacular to witness it’s ascent into the skies.

I wish my camera did better justice to the majesty of watching this lovely bird in flight… I’m was filled with gratitude with the blessing of just quietly witnessing it’s presence.

Daily Affirmations: With Each Dawn

With each dawn is a new day of opportunities and blessings. I welcome them upon waking each day. I open my heart each day with a sense of gratitude. I welcome the blessings and I work through whatever obstacles may come my way for I know from hardship comes wisdom. And so today, I welcome the dawn… and the new day. As I do every day. ~~ Pamela J. Reflections: Rough Seas

I’ve been charting rough seas for a few weeks now and I keep looking for a break from the many storms that have been thrown my way, financial, physical and given the first two, emotional as well. It’s been one of those times in life that no matter how hard you try, you just feel like it’s tough to get a break.

I’ve always believed in the power of positive thought and intent but sometimes even within a daily practice of affirmations, gratitude and prayers, you still feel as though the sea is tossing you from side to side.

Still, there are moments as each day passes by, that I see the light at the end of the tunnel. There is a reflection of light so wonderous, that it fills me with the necessary strength to push through the rough seas…
