Food For Thought: Patience

Awesome words of wisdom from His Holiness…

The practice of patience protects us from losing our composure. In doing that it enables us to exercise discernment, even in the heat of difficult situations. It gives us inner space. And within that space we gain a degree of self-control, which allows us to respond to situations in an appropriate and compassionate manner rather than being driven by our anger and irritation. ~~ His Holiness The Dalai Lama

Daily Affirmations: Go With The Flow

Today, I re-mind myself of the need to be in the moment and go with the flow. Nothing past can change the moment I am in, here and now. Two deep breathes, clear the mind… Imagine sitting on a deck chair and watching the river flow… Inner peace is a choice and it is achieved by being present, in the moment and going, moving with the flow of life. ~ Pamela J. Daily Affirmations: Smelling Like A Rose

Today, I re-mind myself that no matter what I am going through in my life, if I stay positive and focused, then I can still come out, like the old saying, smelling like a rose. Although a thorn or two might pierce my fingers, I have the gift of gratitude, keeping me going. ~ Pamela J. Leavey

Food For Thought: Mistakes

“God does not look at a person who has made a mistake the same way we do. God does not seek to punish us when we have made mistakes, but to correct us. When we return to our right minds, loving unconditionally and unwaveringly, then the world itself will self-correct.”  ~~ Marianne Williamson, The Shadow Effect

Daily Affirmations: I Am Green

“I welcome the chance to learn from every person with whom my life interacts. I recognize that I am green as the new leaves that grow upon the trees, and in my learning I too will grow.” ~~ Pamela J. Leavey

Food For Thought: Trust

Trust has been a theme that has been recurring in my life in recent weeks and bringing up issues of faith or I should say more aptly put, loss of faith.

The faith I question isn’t in myself, or my very complex and diverse understandings of the spiritual realm, so much as it in people and the lesson in don Miguel Ruiz‘s The Four Agreements to “be impeccable with your word.”

When people in your life are not “impeccable” with their word and you take them at face value, because you trust, you get hurt. There’s no way around that.

Times heals all wounds… but, trust when shaken or shattered no longer becomes a gift given freely, it must then be earned.

When you are impeccable with your word, you run less risk of breaking the trust of others… It boils down to, being capable of walking your talk.
